Each type of surfboard wax has optimal operating temperatures as well as general guidelines for when you should use which.

When waxing a brand new hardboard or after stripping off all the old wax you will need to use a hard base coat, we recommend the Quick Humps Tropical wax (red logo). The top coats usually used day to day in Ireland are the cool varieties in summer or the cold varieties in winter.

If you are waxing a soft board (not always necessary) we recommend the softest wax, extra cold (yellow logo).
